Reverend Dr. Linwood Carver

Dr. Carver is a 1980 graduate of North Carolina A& T State University with a major in Political Science and Marketing minor. Linwood also graduated from Shaw Divinity School in May of 2011, with a Masters of Divinity degree.  He earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from United Theological Seminary in 2014 and has completed Foundations of Christian Leadership training at Duke University Divinity School in 2015. He was employed with the local newspaper’s Advertising Department from 1979 until 2016. He is currently president of Melanin Foundation.

His prior service includes: Deacon, Chair of Public Relations Ministry. Currently, he leads the Family Focus Circle and he continues to serves on the Public Relations Ministry,  Layman League, and member of The. He has also served as a member of the Executive Board of Urban Ministry. He has been a Change Agent for the City of Greensboro

He was licensed to preach the gospel February 15, 2003 at Genesis Baptist Church after many years of running from his call. Reverend Carver was ordained by the Rowan Baptist Association in 2006.

He is the husband of Miguel, the father one daughter, Mallory and has three granddaughters, Gabrielle, Jayde and Mariah.

Reverend Dr. Carver believes that we worship a purposeful God. Every creation has purpose; therefore every person is here for purpose. Jesus redeemed us because we can now be free to fulfill our purpose in God’s plan, without condemnation by our adversary.
